3.4 Additional Information

It is important to note that ISO/IEC 13818-1 MPEG Systems states that the audio and

video sampling clocks must be locked to the 27MHz MPEG system clock. When the

MPEG audio packet processor within the encoder/multiplexer is being presented with

an “asynchronous” pre-compressed Dolby Digital bitstream, however, the system

behavior is largely undefined.

3.5 Alarms and Monitoring

The DP583 has a bypass input that can be used for redundant or hot standby

operation. In order to connect a pair of DP583 for hot standby, the following

connections should be made.
